Throw in some spice: Bail bonds office worker Lula is witness to the crime, and the only one she'll talk to is Trenton cop, Joe Morelli.

Bring to a boil: Stephanie Plum is working overtime tracking felons for the bonds office at night and snooping for security expert Carlos Manoso, A.K.A. Ranger, during the day. Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, solve Ranger's problems and not jump his bones?
Warning: Habanero hot. So good you'll want seconds!

My Thoughts:

laughingcorpse.jpg the laughing corpse image by yo-yo-fun

Synopsis:

Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter for Animators, Inc., is offered a cool mil to raise a 283-year-old corpse. But she knows that "the older the zombie, the bigger the death needed to raise it". Only a human sacrifice is "big" enough to raise this old soul--and Anita's no murderer.

Now, a creature from beyond the grave is tearing a swath of murder through St. Louis. And Anita will learn that there are some secrets better left buried—and some people better off dead..."

My Thoughts:

I do believe that I liked this book even more than the first. I love Anita's quick wit and bad a** attitude. Crazy rich guy, killer zomie, and creepy voodoo lady are after her and she still keeps on going!

New Threads in the Patter by Robert Jordan

Synopsis:

In this second part of the tale after The Hunt Begins, Rand al'Thor-- reluctantly drawn into the quest to recover the Horn of Valere--must face something even more frightening that the Myrddraal and Trollocs: his own true identity. Can Rand really be the Dragon Reborn?

My Thoughts:

I just love this series. Granted I just finished book 2 but I just can't help but love it! Nynaeve is probably my favorite character. She is really bad ass! Even though Rand is the main character in the series, and I do like him, but he is really annoying at this point. Constantly wining and stressing about the Aes Sedai. Regardless I am really excited for the next book, "The Dragon Reborn"!!!!!!

Thanksgiving by Janet Evanovich

Synopsis:

When Megan Murphy discovered a floppy-eared rabbit gnawing on the hem of her skirt, she meant to give its careless owner a piece of her mind, but Dr. Patrick Hunter was too attractive to stay mad at for long. Soon the two are making Thanksgiving dinner for their families.

My Thoughts:

Although, I love Janet Evanovich this book fell a little short for me. It was still entertaining but it just didn't have that flare that her other books do.

Stolen by Kelley Armstrong

Synopsis:

In Bitten, thirty-year-old Elena Michaels came to terms with her feral appetites and claimed the proud identity of a beautiful, successful woman-- and the only living female werewolf.

In Stolen, on a mission for her own elite pack, she is lured into the net of ruthless Internet billionaire Tyrone Winsloe, who has funded a bogus scientific investigation of the "other races" and their supernatural powers. Kidnapped and studied in his underground lab deep in the Maine woods, these paranormals--witches, vampires, shamans, werewolves-- are then released and hunted to the death in a real-world video game. But when Winsloe captures Elena, he finally meets his match.

My thoughts:

I really enjoyed this, but it had quite a few slow parts. I also was a little boggled by the sex scene in the middle of the escape. What is that? Other than that it was a great read. I just love Elena and Clay. I'm definitely looking forward to reading about the next Woman of the Other World. :D

The Target by Catherine Coulter

Synopsis:

Escaping unwanted media attention after a notorious incident, Ramsey Hunt retreats into the solitude of a cabin high in the Colorado Rockies. But his isolation is shattered when he rescues a small girl unconscious in the forest and strangers invade his private meadow, their intent to kill.

Molly Santera, the little girl's mother, catches up with Ramsey and her daughter, mistaking him for the kidnapper. When she discovers that he instead saved Emma, there's little time for thanks. The men pursuing want them badly.

Savich and Sherlock (The Maze) as well as MAX, the transvestite laptop, return to assist. Ramsey and Molly, facing constant danger, unravel the clues and ultimately discover why they're at the center of the target.

My Thoughts:

I absolutely love Catherine Coulter, especially the FBI series. I didn't like this as much as The Cove and The Maze but I still really enjoyed. It was just a little slow I think. Sherlock and Savich are just two of my favorite characters. It does irritate me that within a week characters are in love with eachother. I mean what is that?! lol

Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz

Odd Thomas Pictures, Images and Photos

Synopsis:

No one could have imagined Odd Thomas ever leaving the perfect quirky comfort of Pico Mundo, least of all Odd himself. The little desert town that nurtured Odd all his life is the locus of everything he holds dear–his loyal friends, his ghostly confidants, and the place where he loved and lost his soul mate, the irreplaceable Stormy Llewellyn. Yet leave it he has, to embrace the solitude and peace of an isolated monastery high in the western mountains as he tries to find a way to live fully again.

But Odd has a knack for finding himself in the path of trouble no matter where he goes–even among the eccentric monks in their sanctuary and with the King of Rock ’n’ Roll at his side. For a killer is stalking the ancient holy halls, and Odd is about to encounter an enemy who eclipses any he has yet encountered…

My Thoughts:

So this is only the second book I have read by Dean Koontz (the first being By the Light of the Moon), and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Odd Thomas is a great well written character whom you can't help but love. Although I liked the book the ending really bummed me out. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series! :)
